A Reconciling in Christ Congregation of the ELCA

Loved by God,
We share Christ's Love with all.

We welcome all to gather and worship, believing that God’s love extends to all people regardless of identity, background, or where you are in your relationship with Christ. We affirm that we are avid supporters and allies of the LGBTQIA+ community, and understand that being an inclusive space is an ongoing project that never has a true finish line. Our goals in fostering Advent Lutheran as an RIC church and congregation includes current and future efforts of becoming better allies, inclusive of but not limited to the following communities: the disabled community, the LGBTQIA+ community, and the BIPOC community.

With our variety of worship service styles, times of day, and locations both in-person and online, we hope to provide a place of worship that can accommodate everyone.

We believe that providing for our greater community is one the most essential ways of spreading God's love. Please look through our website for more information about who we are, what opportunities we currently offer to serve the greater community through, and how we foster fellowship here at Advent Lutheran!

September 7th                                      "God's work. Our hands."

The ELCA'S Day of Service has arrived again!

On September 7th, we once again will be participating in the ELCA's Day of Service to serve our local community. In the difficult and dangerous times we are living in, there is no better time to spread kindness and charity to our community, and to reaffirm as a church our dedication to share God's love with all.

Please remember to wear your yellow Day of Service shirt, or purchase one in the Narthex!

The day's itinerary goes as follows:

  • There will only be one worship service at 10am
  • We will be opening the Advent time capsule, followed by a potluck lunch
  • An array of service opportunities have been arranged, including the following:
    • Stuff pillows for Hospice
    • Sing in a traveling choir at a local assisted living facility
    • Make fleece tied blankets for various charities
    • Yard work and small projects for people needing help
    • Fill the pantry - we will be collecting canned goods, boxed food, non-perishables for our Little Free Pantry. There will be a collection box in the Narthex.

Sign-up sheets for all projects are available in the Narthex, or you can contact Dave Mattson with any other project ideas you may have.

This book club will be held both in-person at Advent and online. The book can be found online or stores in physical, virtual, or audio copies, and we always encourage supporting your local library!
