Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I'm singing in the reign Just singing in the reign; What a glorious feelin'; I'm happy again; I'm laughing at clouds; So dark up above; The sun's in my heart; And I'm ready for love; Let the stormy clouds chase everyone from the place; Come on with the reign; I've a smile on my face; I walk down the lane; With a happy refrain; Just singin', Singin' in the reign; Dancin' in the reign. Dee-ah dee-ah dee-ah; Dee-ah dee-ah dee-ah; I'm happy again! I'm singin' and dancin' in the reign! I'm dan-cin' and singin' in the reign...
[ADDITIONAL VERSE] Why am I smil-ing, And why do I sing?   Why does September seem sunny as spring?  Why do I get up each morning and start?  Happy and head up; With joy in my heart.  Why is each new task a trifle to do?  Because I am living A life full of you. (Singing in the Rain. Artist: Gene Kelly Lyrics)

I am singing in the reign of God.  I choose to celebrate and dance in the sovereignty of God as I have been created for hope and not despair.  I am person of faith not fear so I will dance in the reign of God.  Psalm 30 tells us, "You have turned my mourning into dancing; you have taken off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,(11) so that my soul may praise you and not be silent.   O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever."(12)

If our perception becomes our reality then I choose life, and I choose to set my eyes of faith on a God that has overcome the world.   What does it benefit me to let the world get the best of me when the Creator of the universe has called me by name and makes His home in me?   My best for God is a life lived in gratitude and love in spite of my brokenness, and so let God get the best of me and let the chips fall where they will!

I will see every human being as my brother and sister and celebrate the best of humanity in spite of its self-destructive selfish agendas.   I will let God be God and not insult my Lord with my temptation to be like Him or make assumptions of His thoughts and actions.   Oh, let me dance and sing in Your reign of this world, dear God, and invite the world to dance along, reveling in what is right and not wallow in the mire of self indulgence and self pity.

Why is it easier to point out the imperfections and brokenness in others and ignore our own?  Self righteousness is one of the greatest maladies of the human condition; we seek to set ourselves above and ahead of those perceived by us or others to be inferior and unclean.

As Jesus said in Matthew, Chapter 23:23-26, "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!  For you tithe mint, dill, and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith.  It is these you ought to have practiced without neglecting the others.(23)  You blind guides!   You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel!(24)   Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!   For you clean the outside of the cup and of the plate, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. (25)   You blind Pharisee!  First clean the inside of the cup, so that the outside also may become clean."(26)

My accountability as a person of faith is how I will use the grace and love granted to me by my Creator.   There are 24 hours in a day, seven days in a week, 365 days in a year, so I am bound by time and space for how I use the living of my days to love God and neighbor in the witness to salvation history.   Will I wallow in the law of accusations, or will I see the best that God has to offer and reflect the possibility of His redeeming love?   I thank God that I am not God, for what a poor and broken god I would be.  I am a thankful kid of the King, a sinner of Christ ’s own redeeming, and a called servant to the least, to the outcast, the lepers of our day.  I will sing and dance in the reign of a God that isn ’t afraid of guilt by association and the Savior who went beyond His comfort zone to bring the lost children home.

Psalm 1:1-3: Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path that sinners tread, or sit in the seat of scoffers;(1)   but their delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law they meditate day and night.(2)   They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither.  In all that they do, they prosper.(3)

Sing and dance with me!
