Pastor's Sabbatical/Spiritual Renewal Summit
June 23, 2007

What might spiritual renewal look like at Advent if it were truly accomplished?

We talked about this question at length during the meeting.   Responses from the attendees included:

Enhanced contact with members, and more "reaching out" to those who are not attending services on Sunday. Greater attendance in adult bible study/ renewed emphasis on adult bible study and prayer vigils More purposeful follow-up with those who fill out the time and talent sheets
More people "stretching" out of their comfort zones, attending weekend retreats, getting more involved. Greater stewardship in general, more people giving of their time, talents and treasure Greater spiritual focus on stewardship, with less emphasis on mechanics.
Greater personal conviction; what do I need to do to deepen my own faith and get more involved to help others? More support for those who step up to make a difference, and more acceptance for changes that result Functions that help members get to know each other better, and to know Pastor better

What will Pastor Kovitch be doing while on sabbatical?
