Stewardship MomentSeptember 2011In the interest of moving Advent Lutheran Church in the direction of a “year-around” approach to stewardship, this is the seventh installment in a series of monthly vignettes intended to aid in understanding what stewardship really means to us as Christians. The answers may surprise some of you. Being a steward of property is also an important aspect of being Christian. We bring nothing into the world and we take nothing out of it. Everything that we have while we are here comes as a gift from God. In appreciation, we choose to share a portion of these gifts. The stewardship of our property is an ongoing process. We give regularly and systematically in proportion to the gifts which we are given, including the talents which earn us our possessions. Because we love God, we gladly dedicate these gifts to God’s service, and give a worthy portion for the care of people in need.
