Bible Study – currently, we have an adult Bible Study that takes place every Sunday morning during the hour between worship services, 10:30 – 11:30am.  The topic for discussion is decided by the class. Currently, the class is studying the Sermon Text assigned for that day.

Brown Bag Bible Study – The Brown Bag Bible Study group meets on the fourth Thursday of every month at 12 noon – unless otherwise agreed upon in order to accommodate such things as conflicts with holidays etc. We are currently meeting using a hybrid format. We meet in classroom 1 (in the Education Wing) and on Zoom for those who want to attend remotely. Each month we will focus on a different book of the New Testament. This Bible study will be light and informal. In other words – FUN. You DO NOT have to be a Bible scholar to participate. There will be no books to purchase. Just bring your Bible. You DO NOT have to attend every session. If you have to miss one or more sessions, that will be no problem. Just dive back in whenever you can.

Women’s Study/Fellowship – Advent has two women’s “circles”. The Hope Circle meets the second Tuesday of each month at 9:30am for a time of fellowship and book discussion. Sophia meets the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month at 10:00am. Any woman is welcome to come and join the discussions and meet a new friend.

Quilting – the “Piecemakers Quilting Circle” meets every Thursday at 9:30am.  No quilting experience is necessary. Quilts are made for those in need and victims of disasters worldwide through Lutheran World Relief. Comfort quilts for members and thank you quilts for Veterans are also made by this group.

Retired Men’s Fellowship – this group meets the first Tuesday of every month in our fellowship hall at 9:30am. They meet for coffee, donuts and discussion.  All are welcome.

Choir – our choir members already know this but, this article says it all:

Your Brain and Singing: Why Singing in a Choir Makes You Happier

The choir meets to rehearse every Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. and sings at the 9:00 am service each Sunday Labor Day through Memorial Day.

Christian/Muslim Dialog – In a world increasingly divided, we are called to build bridges and make friendships. Advent is active in “Tea Time for Peace," a local organization actively promoting dialog between individuals of differing faith communities.

Lutheran/Catholic Dialog – Members of Advent have joined with members of St. Noel Roman Catholic Church in Willoughby Hills, OH for times of study, fellowship and worship. It is our desire to increase our understanding of what we share in common and to lessen the negative impact our differences have had on working together towards common goals.

Senior Adult Fellowship Opportunities – our “OK Gang” (Older Kids 😊 ) meets every 3nd Monday of the month at 1:00pm at different local restaurants. Call the church office to find out where they are meeting this month!
